Editing Documents in UNL CMS
If we need to make a change to a posted document, do we make the changes in Word or whatever, then have to re-upload it to the Media Library, or can we just open it on the site and save it from there? There is a choice to Edit/Delete.
You cannot edit a document within UNL CMS. The Edit function in CMS will allow you to replace the previously uploaded version, though, so if you’re linking it from a page or pages, that link will persist and you won’t have to re-link things (although you may need to clear your cache for the updated version to show). As always, a reminder that if you’re adding a document to a site, make sure that it’s accessible. And perhaps it goes without saying, but Delete will obviously delete the file.
Creating Accessible PDFs
Is there a good tutorial site on how to make PDFs accessible? I tried to jump in on Acrobat Pro and got confused right away.
There’s some information about this in right column on the bottom of the Creating Accessible Content page. Of course, the first step is assessing whether the content you're adding to your site even needs to be a PDF at all. There's information about that as well on the previously linked page.
How to Remove Nebraska Today Story from News Page
How do we get a news story that was pulled from the Nebraska Today site to drop off of our News page?
On the Content page you can check the checkbox and set it to Unpublished in the dropdown.
