  • 85% of our traffic currently come through Chrome / Safari, which already have built-in translation
  • Modern Languages has a NETIC (translation/interpretation corps) service. Interested parties can use this form to get in touch with them and get an estimate. As an approximation, the About page on soc.unl.edu is just under 500 words and would run $50-60. The translator rate is $30/page, and 500 words is about 1-2 pages of work.
  • Text on our websites can be contractual - does including a control on our website imply an endorsement of the accuracy of that translation.

• Default mobile audio player to basic HTML5 audio, due to playback issues on certain browsers

• Dark Mode launches Tuesday, July 13
• 5.3 Updates (deploy Mar. 10) - New datepicker component, other small changes

UNLcms updates

• Google Analytics module currently in UNLcms works fine for legacy, but new users can't get classic code (UA prefix). Still not support for Drupal module for new code, working on an update.
• Drupal 8 / 9 development resumed after COVID tracking program. Looking for a summer launch for sites.

Common problems found by Web Audit

• Document on Web Developer Network website goes through a list of common webaudit issues and how to solve them
• New sensitive terms flags rolling out in Webaudit. These will flag different terms similar to how the spelling function does now. Will not count against score, just be more of an informational flag.
