Reusable Blocks

Reusable blocks are a powerful way to a single piece of content, then add that content to any number of Builder Pages on your UNL CMS site. To add or edit a reusable block, follow these instructions or watch the video below.

To create a reusable block:

  1. While logged-in to your UNL CMS website, click the "Content" tab.
  2. On the main content page of your site, click the "Blocks" tab.
  3. Click the "Add content block" button and you'll be prompted to choose from the same list of components that you're able to add to a standard Builder Page.
  4. Fill out all the fields for the respective block / component and click the "Save" button. Once your block has saved, you'll see it in the list of Reusable blocks that you can reference.
  5. To add it to any Builder Page, click the "Layout" tab of that page.
  6. To add a reusable block, you'll need to make sure that you have a section and layout created for the respective block that you added.
  7. Once you have a layout built, choose the "+ Add component" button, then from the list of components click the "More..." button.
  8. In the block menu on the right, you'll see a list titled "Reusable components" (2nd from the bottom) that will include any blocks that you've already added to your site. Click the title of the block you want to add, finalize any customizations (like background color on some components), then click the "Add block" button and your reusable block will be added to your page.
  9. Scroll up and click the "Save layout" button to finalize the changes in Layout Builder.
  10. To add more reusable blocks or edit existing ones, follow steps 1 and 2 above.
