WDN Shared Governance Board Updates

  • Hard flip to 5.0 in UNLcms on Monday, August 5th (semester starts Mon, Aug 26th)
    • Communication to sites still in 4.1 about the change
    • Going through a list of the higher-priority sites; assistance will be available
  • Discussion of user roles/access
    • More granular roles for access for adding / editing pages / menu / availability to html
  • Removal of deprecated.css for Drupal 8

  • Responsive (and scrollable) tables
    • Responsive: Stacked by default, goes to default table @sm breakpoint
    • Scrollable: add class to make table scroll horizontally
  • Add portrait orientation options and responsive suffixes to aspect ratios
  • Add mixin/utility for XL max-width
  • Add media query for reduced motion preference

    • Lazy-loading updates
    • NOTE: deprecated.css will be removed from the global include with August release. If you want to continue using 4.1 classes, you'll need to manually include the file in your "head" section: https://wdn.unl.edu/documentation/5.0/using-olddeprecated-classes-and-css (UNLcms will continue to include the file for the time being, CMS ties need to take no action)

UNLcms updates

  • May 18 hosting move completed. Ongoing mystery issue with items automatically appearing in menu when new page is created.
  • [submission:user:nuid] token now available for webforms
  • Drupal 8 timeline:
    • Phase 1: New "Quickstart" managed sites available July 1
    • Phase 2: New custom "Builder" sites (similar to current sites) - available early fall TBD
    • Phase 3: Migration path (TBD)

UNL Announce

  • Simplified the input form
  • Stories can now be reused
  • Email style/font updates for 5.0
