Our Primary Color(s)

#D00000 hex
208, 0, 0 rgb
@brand {LESS} variable

Scarlet, a/k/a ‘Red’ is more than just our brand color. In design, it asserts its dominance without breaking a sweat. It is the dominant color in the UNLedu design, and should not be overwhelmed by other colors as they are added to produce finished pages and sites.

#FEFDFA hex
254, 253, 250 rgb
@cream {LESS} variable

Cream is the calm, warm white background over which Scarlet shouts. It is the default background color to the UNLedu 4.1 page design. ‘Scarlet and Cream’ are mentioned in three of our fight songs, though oddly ‘Dear Old Nebraska U’ mentions no color other than “true blue.”
